Today was a busy day.
I was translating, working, preparing a new post (you will see it published soon), chatting a bit with the new bot of @SteemSTEM (hihi, have you met it?) and at the not-so-much-really spare time, I managed to quickly read this (in reality not so hilarious, but still funny) post about a funny block chain guide by Onion ..
Then I wanted to post about it here (with more info) but ... time is ruthless and time has come for me to go to my training.
One of the things we learn is to always be consistent. Consistent to our obligations. Not to miss our training sessions. To know how far our leg is stretched. And more (to come in one/or more future posts)
I had the opportunity to watch this impressive demonstration and I wanted to share it with you ...
Our class (Grown Ups Tae Kwon Do Class) does a demonstration every year (summer time) ...
So, this has inspired me a lot
I hope you enjoy it and .. I would love to know your thoughts about it!
What do you believe about TKD, about martial arts? Are you practicing? Would you consider to?
Thanks for dropping by...
Coming back soon
i will speak about Greece and martial arts and generally and because of that i will divide it in Greek and English language!
Now to speak more generic. The drawback many martial arts have and that the reason mma becomes more and more popular is that in actual fights they don't prove useful. In most of them there is little to no sparring with moves that can be done in the streets so in a way it's more like yoga or a nice way to exercise and just this.
As far as it concerns me i have done judo and kung fu, the first one in terms of sparing was better but in terms of the martial art in Greece was full of holes (rigged tournaments, easy ways to earn the belts, teachers that have no clue). Kung fu was great as exercise (maybe one of the best), there was close to no sparring and you basically did the moves so many times that the concept was that will get buried into your mind and body and they will come out naturally (that need many many years to be achieved though). All in all if someone wants to dive into the world of martial arts they need to find a good gym-teacher, train their asses off and do it for many many many years!

My friend in a few points, your hit was 100% accurate!
I am not sure if it happens in other countries, but it is true that new 'martial art schools' come out only too often. I also cannot understand how I see children of 8-9 with black belts (because I know what a black belt means), but I am sure that the rest of the world is very impressed.
I did a thorough investigation of what TKD is before joining, and (not to brag) but our Master used to be a Greek National Champion.
Also, one's got to know their limits.
We are a grown-up section of a very good school. Everybody may train for a different reason, but what is certain is that training aint so easy.
But if they want, there is a zumba lesson same days, same hours! haha
Kung Fu I would consider learning, but where I live, options are very limited..
Thanks for dropping by :)

hahaha :P
when i had to search for kung fu i did quite the research too :P the teachers were actual monks directly from the shaolin temple in china but once again it's great for exercising (επειδη ειναι φουλ αεροβια) but there is close to 0 sparring. If you go for over 10 years probably you may be able to do something in a street fight but it need dedication, otherwise Zumba!! :P

I strongly recommend you to learn TKD. Its beauty is using of feet to strike target which is forcing the learner to move whole body. When you complete and are able to crush the target by a strike using your feet, you will feel the extreme fun!

Hmm, is Tae Kwon Do also for old bones like mine? :-)
I know, one never is too old for any kind of sports. I admire people who are practicing this activities, but myself I never did get into it. Maybe I should try . . . despite of my old bones! :-)

Well it always depends... : )
Exercise can be tough, but our ages vary from 18 to approximately 60. When your goal is not next Championship, you can train in a more 'light' way and always keeping in mind that martial arts practice 'repetition' of moves in order to improve technique and as my friends says, the move stays in your mind and you do it before even thinking about (after many years of practicing)
It always has to do with what you have in mind about working out and staying in shape and also who your master and co-athletes are. I might write about my journey into TKD soon.. (I would never imagine myself entering this martial art)
What I can say, is that people should 'move', not stay still, do things for their body and mind. One of the reasons why I admire you and many actifitters :)
Thank you for visiting dear Peter :)
