Hello, lovely steemians!
Some of you may remember my article from a couple of months ago, where I listed 10 things I want to do before the end of 2018. The year is coming to the end soon, and I may not be able to fulfill all of them, but number 8 on the list was to try the bubble tea. And I did it today!
I chose the original milk black tea, because I figured I can go for the most classic option as my first time. The tea itself was good, I could almost taste the nice kick of the black tea through all the sugar that was in it. I mean, I don't mind sugar in my tea, but the amount in this cup was quite a lot (should have realized that, considering that it contains 310 calories, not including tapioca pearls).
This was also the first time I've ever had tapioca pearls. The sensation of pearls arriving into your mouths via thick straw is incredibly strange, but the pearls are nicely chewy. The taste is very mild, slightly sweet (I am not sure if the pearls are sweet, or if I just experienced lingering sweetness from the tea itself) and after a couple of morsels I got used to it.
Overall, for me personally, the experience was OK, the tea I've got was a good bubble tea, but I am just not impressed by the whole "bubbleteaness" of it.
What about you? Have you ever tried bubble tea? Did you like it?
