Big Ben Renovation...

I was crossing Westminster bridge recently and saw that Big Ben was being renovated, i had actually forgot that this was being done and was the first time i had seen it look like this.

Big Ben is actually a nickname given to the clocktower which is currently off limits whilst renovations are done , the building itself is called Westminster Palace, renovation began in April of this year and is predicted to take 3 years.

I would assume that tourism of the area has been affected by these renovations and that visitors expecting to see the this landmark have been left disappointed, though it seems that these works were necessary to keep the clock ticking and to keep it accurate in regards to timekeeping.
