Kyle Perkins, a young American writer, followed me on twitter, and I also started to follow him back and read his articles. One that draw my attention, inspired and gave me the courage I needed to start writing down my thoughts and feelings in a regular basis was as this simple (and perhaps not!) one: Writing tips from the biggest procrastinator in the world.
Just loved it! I contacted him to say that I was thinking about quoting him in one of my posts, and he said yes. But, instead, dared to sum up his tips and highlight the ones that meant most to me, which, btw, I already used to apply regarding my photography work: listen to the music, it’s inspiring; set realistic (humble) goals, meaning that you don’t need to have (and write) the whole story at once, but aloud yourself to express your thoughts and feelings by writing them down; ignore your insecurities (yes!); finish what you start. This one is especially useful as we tend to forget our thoughts during the routine of the days.
And this works! You may have been noticing that I started to put my own texts in the recent posts.
Hope I have the guts to keep it on! Thanks Kyle Perkings!
