Up early today on a travel Tuesday. I had dreams but don't think I slept/rested very well. Nervous about missing another train.

Got some core work done, just to wake me up. Didn't work. Maybe when I get the pack on my back, get to the station and have ticket in hand will I be alright. I can sleep on the train. Twenty-five hours to Philly. I wonder who else is going to Philadelphia by train today... leaving this south Florida weather for holiday cheer with family.

During Abstract Year I can be spontaneous, but not irresponsible. There is a difference.

Today's entry will document the trip to Philadelphia. Already the train is half an hour late. Amtrak no longer checks luggage on this route and now has baggage restrictions a la airlines. This is a sign of a weakening economy. They have likely laid off baggage handlers. This change was instituted in August of this year according to the post at the station.

Of course I cannot help but think about traveling through Spain. For the most part the schedule was dead on. Oh, yeah; this is the day after the derailment - I suppose that would affect the whole system.

The train showed up late, but no biggie. This line is turbulent, bumpy and rough. I had dinner in the dining car. Staff is polite but not as friendly and engaging as the southern cross country route. But there's tea and wifi, so I'm okay.
