Does what you are doing now get you to where you want to be? I find that to be a useful framing technique to determine whether the path you are on is worth continuing. If it doesn't, then why still persist?
Often times, we end up doing things because that's the way it has always been done and that can be very negative because we are compounding mistakes.
Compounding is another powerful force. A slightly bad decision compounded for a few years becomes a terrible decision at the end of a few years.
But then after you realize that you need to change path, you then need to make plans to change the path that you're on and this part is actually quite hard. Because when you're in the thick of it, you don't see the mistakes that you're making or the different actions that you could be taking.
Like if you're not around healthy food or it is not available, then it doesn't seem like an option. If you're surrounded by fast food and liquor stores, then those seem like your only options.
Anyway, hopefully you have made some changes, then it comes time to change and hopefully you will be strong and not default back to the old ways. Because inertia is a really comfortable state.
