Looks Like Harvard Is Changing Their Admissions Criteria

So as the topic says, there's news out today that Harvard is set to change their admissions criteria and it looks like standardized testing will play an even smaller role. I think this is unfortunate as standardized testing is probably the fairest form of assessment. Sure it is not perfect but compared to the subjective metrics of the other options, I think it is pretty good already.

Now, from my personal experience, when these sort of fixed criteria is available, I tend to do pretty well whether it is for school admissions or job interviews. But when they aren't available, I do horribly. That's been my personal experience and I think a lot of people have the same experience.

There's the famous concert musician selection study. Where if you do a blind selection, the genders are pretty even but if you don't then there's a male gender bias. Oh well, either way, I am not planning to go to harvard anymore so it doesn't affect me.
