Looks Like More Regulations Around Covid

The authorities are going to double down on covid zero even in the face of Omicron and I would be seriously surprised if they manage to control it even with the heightened measures. Short of a full flight lockdown, I don't see how this is going to be contained. Like people in adjacent rooms are getting the virus so it seems like it spreads really virulently. Imagine catching it on the plane or while waiting in line for testing?

Some countries like back home have more or less given up and while things aren't fully back to normal, you can at least fly in somewhat normally although there are some quarantine restrictions in place. The quarantine is a big factor. Having to pay for 2 to 3 weeks of hotel stay is really expensive.

Also the uncertainty of having a surprise hotel stay is quite stressful. Like you think you are going for a quick trip and then you test positive and then have an additional 2k to spend. I wish the authorities would look at protecting the vulnerable and let everyone else get on with life. There seems to be a problem with authorities not willing to let go and move on.
