The surgical masks that the kids wear at school is running low. We brought 2 boxes over when we moved but between school and us heading out, it has started to run out faster than we expected. I thought replenishing the stock would be pretty easy. Just head over to the pharmacy and buy a couple of boxes. Turns out it isn't so simple.
For one, there doesn't to be a big manufacturing base for masks over here so they are relying on overseas supplies. Next, adult masks are relatively easy to find but kids masks and especially for those under 6 isn't. Like, I've been to multiple supermarkets and pharmacies and have not found a single one that even offers them. Turns out there used to be a government restriction on buying them and I'm not so sure if it has been lifted.
I'm looking for it online but again, not so easy like it was. I regret not buying more boxes and have them packed over with us. With Omicron and an even newer variant out now, it looks like we will never get past this covid fear. It will be lockdown after lockdown.
