The Difference An Early Start Makes

Yesterday was just a nightmare in getting the kids to school. We woke up 'late' and I use that word in quotes because were still up before 715 in the morning. But because there's a bottleneck with the toilet, it meant a mad rush and of course, getting the kids to eat quickly is always a challenge.

To avoid all that, today we were up at 630 and the kids also did their part in helping to eat without having to chase them around the house. We were then out of the house by 8 and it helped that our apartment was able to get a cab on the first try and it was here before we were even downstairs.

Yesterday, we had the frustration of the cab not coming and having to try and flag one down on the street. Today we could even have walked to school as everyone was ready to go to school by 8.

So the question is whether this is ideal. I still prefer the old set up but we are still settling down and perhaps we should get a car if a permanent cab or driver arrangement can't be found. I'm resisting that because driving here feels like the wild west in ways and also road signs aren't in English or even in English letters.
