The truth is it's good news because it tells you you don't have to do ANYTHING to be close to God.
All that's left for you to do is enjoy that He's right here, He's always been right here and He always will be right here!

Oh my! I totally disagree! God is close to you, but that doesn't mean you are close to God. You may shut your heart and keep him away.
And you needn't shut your heart to be apart, just by not following the path, you are building a wall that will prevent you from getting closer to God. You know: "Not everyone who says to me Lord, Lord"
Furthermore: "Take up you cross and follow me". That's the way you become closer.

You will also say we should reconcile with God right? according to Paul God did it [2 Corinthains 5:18-19], God reconcile the world unto himself in Christ.

Matthew said He is Immanuel [Matt 1:24] God with us. Now I get what you are trying to say, but that's exactly a religious mindset, trying to infuse fear in people's heart . God don't wants us to have a relationship with Him based on fear but LOVE. So, For God to be close to us, is enough. Now we are not getting more closer to Him, that's a big lie. You are talking about a religious feeling, you wanna feel like he is closer to you and you will say 'God is closer to me' what about others?

Now, there's a manifestation of God's blessings in our lives when we realize His closeness and enjoy it by spending time with Him. But that doesn't change the fact that He is the one who came to us, we couldn't go to Him...
Jesus came to us... You can simply receive what God gave...
We need to keep our philosophy and allow Him to teach us.
Give me a verse where God is asking you to be close to Him, I gave you and will add some more where He reveal to us that He is the one who came to us!

You are totally missing the point. I was not talking about reconciliation or "feeling" closer. I'm quoting you once more:
God cannot open your heart without your consent. So it gets back to your saying: Let it be your being closer to me, my Lord.
And I believe "Take up you cross and follow me," clearly states that you need to do SOMETHING (a movement of your will) to be part of the body of Christ, for Christ to open your/His heart to the Father. (html comment removed: EndFragment)

For a Muslim: Jesus is the Word. And the creation was performed through the Word.
They just have it hard to accept the fact that the Word is not a creation; therefore, God, as we know.
And finally:
"Yet to all who did receive him, to those who believed in his name, he gave the right to become children of God" (once more, you have to do something: become a Christian, and become a child of God).
For muslims, they don't believe they are children of God. And certainly, they aren't as they don't receive him and believe in his name, the Word, Christ, God.
