OL Tells Users to Open NEW Account

in blog •  7 years ago  (edited)

If you have an account with the OpenLedger exchange, you may have seen the following notification in an off-red bar at the top of your account page.

If you suspect that your OpenLedger-DEX account is not secure (in case you logged in to it at least once from June 1 through June 4) please create a new account at OpenLedger.io and transfer your funds to this account.

Ughm…okay….How do I do that, may I ask?

Of course, after learning that the platform had been hijacked (see link below) I quite honestly was surprised that there wasn’t an update on any of the Steem platforms beyond perhaps one brief statement shortly thereafter.

This most recent warning leaves me to believe that it would be a smart idea to open a new account anyway; but, really, without any details of how to do this leaves me to wonder if this is just Level II of the hackadoodle scam.

It seems a link leading to how to open a new account would be appropriate. Perhaps, they’ll eventually get around to creating a post.

That’s it. I’ll do a bit more research before I make any drastic moves. Right now, rme, at the thought of setting up a new account, and transferring the funds conveniently into the hands of a scammer….

Btw, here’s the post of a screenshot of the recent hijack:
