  1. As it is written, “Jacob I have loved, but Esau I have hated."
  2. WHAT SHALL WE SAY THEN? IS THERE UNRIGHTEOUSNESS WITH GOD? CERTAINLY NOT!
  3. For He says to Moses, "I WILL HAVE MERCY ON WHOMEVER I WILL HAVE MERCY, and I will have compassion on whomever I will have compassion.
  4. So then it is not of him who wills, nor of him who runs, but of God who shows mercy."
    Romans 9:13-16 (NKJV)

• In the first part of this teaching, we have been able to establish Three out of the eight ways to put yourself in line for God's mercy and Favour.
THE remaining points are shared in this piece:

[IV]. Givings would bring favour on your life: "GIVE, AND YOU WILL RECEIVE. YOUR GIFT WILL RETURN TO YOU IN FULL—pressed down, shaken together to make room for more, running over, and poured into your lap. The amount you give will determine the amount you get back" (Luke 6:38).

  • The level of your Giving determines your attractions, what people give back to you.
A stingy or tight-fisted person may not attract anything—mercy and favour come to A Giver: "BLESSED ARE THE MERCIFUL, FOR THEY SHALL OBTAIN MERCY" Matthew 5:7).
  • Whatever you sow, that you will also reap (Galatians 6:7).
A MERCY shower will always attract mercy and favour!
  • Be willing to serve others, offer help without really expecting a reward from the people you have helped.
EVERYONE has what to offer; when you use your gifted to help others, God would show up on the Day and the time of your own need also: "GOD BLESSES THOSE WHO ARE MERCIFUL, FOR THEY WILL BE SHOWN MERCY" (Matthew 5:7, NLT).

[V]. Obedience to God's Word is also a way to RECEIVE God's mercy and favour

  • Living in line with God's principles in the Bible, and carrying out the instructions given you as an individual to the letter would make you qualify for His mercy and favour: "If you are willing and OBEDIENT [to His Word], You shall eat the good of the land" (Isaiah 1:19).
  • You cannot go about living your Life contrary to God's Word and the things He has instructed you AND still expect His mercy and favour to flow freely in your life.
No, It does not happen that Way! "What shall we say [to all this]? SHOULD WE CONTINUE IN SIN AND PRACTICE SIN AS A HABIT SO THAT [God’s gift of] GRACE MAY INCREASE AND OVERFLOW?" (Romans 6:1 AMP).

[VI]. Walking in the covenant.
IF you are a child of covenant, that is, you have accepted Jesus as your Lord and Saviour; you ought to walk in the covenant by obeying the terms and conditions of the covenant, which are the principles of God written in the Bible.

  • In the old testament, If the Israelites obeyed and abide in the terms of the covenant God made with them and their fathers, They experience God's mercy and favour—they are blessed, preserved, and protected from the attacks of the enemies.
  • If however they went against the covenant, They suffer terribly for it.

[VII]. When you are Kingdom minded—being mindful of the things of God's Kingdom, you experience mercy and Favour.

  • David has the mind for God and for His house.
HE purposed in his heart to build a temple for God, thus, he cannot but attract God's mercy and Favour (2 Samuel 7:1-17).
  • Do you think about God's Kingdom: His work and things pertaining to Him?
"1 Now it came to pass when the king was dwelling in his house, and the LORD had given him rest from all his enemies all around, 2 that the king said to Nathan the prophet, “SEE NOW, I DWELL IN A HOUSE OF CEDAR, BUT THE ARK OF GOD DWELLS INSIDE TENT CURTAINS.” 3 Then Nathan said to the king, “GO, DO ALL THAT IS in YOUR HEART, FOR THE LORD IS WITH YOU" (2 Samuel 7:1-3).

[VIII]. Humility: When pride is found in your Life, you may not experience God's Favour.

  • It was pride and rebellion that made Saul the king lost his throne (1 Samuel 15:28,29).
WHEN he disobeyed God, failed to do what he was instructed to do, he was arguing with Samuel, insisting that he had done the thing said to be done By God (1 Samuel 15:20).
  • What mattered to Saul was his reputation before the people, he would not want the people to know that God was not please with him—which is a manifestation of prideful heart.
HE could not repent and ask for God's mercy, his concern was about being honoured before the people: "Then he said, "I [Saul] HAVE SINNED; YET HONOUR ME NOW, PLEASE, BEFORE THE ELDERS OF MY PEOPLE AND BEFORE ISRAEL..." (1 Samuel 15:30).
IN contrast to what Saul did, when David was convicted of his sin: "Then David confessed to Nathan, "I have sinned against the LORD... David begged God to spare the child. He went without food and lay all night on the bare ground" (2 Samuel 12:13,16).
  • The Scripture says: "BUT ON THIS ONE WILL I LOOK: On him [her] who is poor AND OF A CONTRITE SPIRIT, AND WHO TREMBLES AT MY WORD" (Isaiah 66:2 NKJV).
  • If you humble yourself, you will attract God's Favour: "GOD OPPOSES THE PROUD BUT FAVOURS THE HUMBLE" (1 Peter 5:5 NLT).

• Stop arguing with God on whatever you have done wrong, instead, repent and ask for His mercy—where you have missed it.

  • Amend your Way and right your WRONG.
  • God's mercy and Favour can be provoked IF you do the needful, things according to the Scriptures which we have mentioned in this piece.

• You will not fail in Jesus' name.
Peace!
