Left home for mushrooms... Found chestnuts instead.steemCreated with Sketch.

Today I got up early in the morning with the intention to find some mushrooms.

I wandered into a local forest, and there they were! A whole lot of them!

Just look at them! Beautiful, aren't they?

So naturally I picked them all up I continued my journey.

Along the way I've passed by many different mushrooms, all of which looked good were inedible.

The following mushroom, for example, probably still had enough alcohol inside it from all the partying it did last night, to kill a fully grown human, such as myself. By the looks of its position, I can only imagine the hangover this mushroom must be going through.

Judging by the mere amount of mushrooms I found in my 4h long walk, I could be declared the mushroom picking champion.

But having found zero edible mushrooms..... You do the math.

But having my eyes glued to the ground, I saw something else!

Chestnuts!

A comforting prize for the worst mushroom picker there ever was, so naturally I picked as many of these brown nuggets as I could!

I present you with 3.6kg (8 lbs) worth of the autumn goodness!

But before I got home, though, I stumbled upon these guys:

In the Spock™ hand to the far right, I'm holding the already picked two clovers and trying my best to hold onto the third. The things I do for Steemit.

So when I got home, I put them in a book to dry, right next to some 4+ leaf clovers I've found over the past.

Note this is just one of the pages of this book, which gives me an amazing business idea!

I'll grind these 4, 5 or 6 (you choose) leaf clovers for you, pack them into little paper bags and send them to you for you to drink as "Lucky Tea". The more leaves, the more luck!

Think about it, it's probably the first tea you can buy using STEEM! I'm accepting offers in the comments below.

Jokes aside, I will end this with a fast-forward of the eating process of today's mushrooms harvest.

As you can see, my day is off to a great start. ^.^

Wow! I would like some of that tea!!! Wonderful article. I was excited that you found chestnuts!

I'm glad you liked it :D I'm testing the waters of blogging to see how it goes. If Steemit shows interest, I'll provide the content! haha :D

The chestnuts tasted amazing! It's quite a surprise I found them this early in the year, so I was so much happier when I did indeed, find them :D

If you cover the shipping expenses, you bet I can send some your way! haha :D

I just saw a movie where someone got poisoned by sauteed mushrooms. Great vivid mushroom photo there btw :)

Yeah, I would never mess around with mushrooms that I don't know. I'm only confident enough in identifying 3 different mushroom species and I never try picking anything else. I rather come home empty-handed and stay alive.

Thanks though! :D

Interesting tale of a woodland journey.Nice pics.

Thanks mate! :D Appreciate it! :D

The first picture stand out from a mile!

Yeap! sure does!

Good post, like it! Just opposite like you I go today to find some chestnuts but find more mushrooms :)
btw: I think it's allowed only 1 kg of chestnuts...but looks that you're lucky :))

Hahaha we should have gone together! :D

It's 2kg a day per one person in my country, yea ^^

Some of them are truly great.

Hello fellow Qurite, I saw your post featured in today's edition of the Daily Qurator and came by to read more. Edible or not, the first picture is very beautiful. But you can't beat 8 lbs. of Chestnuts for the roasting and free for the picking up.

Awesome! :D I kind of wish Qurator would have picked a different post that better represents my activity on Steemit (I write short stories daily using the ideas you, Steemians, provide.), but apparently it wants me to do more blogging, haha :D I will gladly deliver! :D

Thanks! And yes, I agree, it looks absolutely gorgeous! :D

So true. I'm willing to share if you stop by, and you get to pick whether you want them cooked or roasted ;P

Haha... how interesting! I wish we could just walk into the forest and find mushrooms and chestnuts... Anyway we don't have forests here but jungles!! Lol...

How about I trade you some for some jungle fruit? :P

Deal! :D We've got bananas and durians (the stinky fruit, delicious once you develop the taste for it), mangoes and rambutan (the red hairy fruit) Interested?

I'll take a kilogram of durians, please. At least I know no family member will eat it if it smells bad. More for me :3 haha :D

Lol... Good strategy... lol. Besides a kilo isn't mush as their shells weigh a ton... :D So it may only be 1-2 fruits! Haha...

I guess I'll... go get more chestnuts tomorrow so I can afford more of those smelly fruits. :p

I'll try and find some mushrooms aswell, but no promises! :P

Chestnuts are fine... :) I don't really fancy mushrooms...

Sounds fine to me! :D want some "lucky tea" along with those chestnuts? :P
