The morality of such manipulation is definitely something to consider-- even if they are unharmed, to manipulate someone is to deprive that person of their free will, or the freedom to choose for themselves what they will do. It may be too simplistic, but it seems like honesty is practically always morally right, while deceit is usually considered wrong.
