“Delivering a fast, reliable, and scalable network towards a better, decentralized web remains a priority. Issues surrounding last week's 1.14 network update - focusing on speed and scale improvements - so maintaining stability in these major updates remains a mode."

Prior to the release of version 1.14, core engineers worked to resolve issues affecting network speed and usability, such as invalid gas meters, lack of flow control trading and lack of market fees, among other technical problems. These issues have been given first priority to improve the user experience.

But after the latest release, Solana core engineers plan to invite more external developers and auditors to test and find exploits.

Core engineers will continue to support external core engineers, including Jump Crypto's Firedancer team, which is building a second authentication client.

Additionally, the core engineers plan to improve the restart process by making nodes automatically discover the latest confirmed location and share a ledger with each other if that location is missing. Solana Labs and its third-party core engineering team have been working on improving the network over the past year, with a focus on stability.
