Getting uncomfortable for 2019

Hey guys!

I guess it is not too late for a new year’s post. It’s only the first week of the new year 2019 afterall.

I know I have been saying that I do not do New Year’s resolution. But then I realized that my 2019 has to be different than my 2018 and it can only happen if I do things differently. So after 1 week long of thinking and reflecting, I finally came out with some goals to achieve this year!

Fitness goals

I had to put fitness first, because I think I can proudly say that I have been doing well in following my fitness goals. Since last year, I have been telling myself to work out at least 3 times a week and in fact, I am able to do more than that. And it makes me feel good about myself and my body. So my goal for this year is to keep doing what I have been doing!

Study goals

I’m liking my study life so far. While the things taught in classes are not so hard to understand, the workload is also bearable. Therefore, my goal is to focus on my school work and studying only on weekdays and allow myself to relax on weekends.

Social Activities

I have to admit that I am struggling with this one. I enjoy solitude so much that socializing feels like a chore that I am forced to do. But even so, I do realize that disconnecting yourself from people and the outside world is not healthy either.

Last year I have a habit of declining any invitations to a gathering or just hanging out with friends. This year I have to change that habit and just go out more. Even if it makes me uncomfortable. Because being comfortable with where we are now means that we are not challenging ourselves.

So my goal is to accept any invitations to hang out, go out there and meet more people!

Creative goal

I enjoy creating. Be it drawing, editing, handcrafting or photographing. But I have not been able to allow myself to learn to improve skills. I have been focusing too much on trying to improve my grades that I havent been able to do the things I enjoy. So this year, I will allocate at least 4 hours a week to create something!

And this also includes posting on Steemit!

Material goal

I am actually surprised that I do not have much on my wishlist. This just shows how I have succeeded in fighting the temptation of buying stuff. I guess knowing that I do not have much to spend also helps in suppressing my urge to buy. The only things that is on my wishlist is to get a longboard. And this is achievable by saving 20% of my weekly allowance. I think that’s doable.

While we do not know what the future holds for us, it feels good to have a plan to get what we want. Although, I do think I will need to revisit this goals after 2 months, to see if its relevant or doable.
