Travel blog to the United States of America: Day 7 "The Walmart Expirience"

in blog •  7 years ago

Last night we had dinner at the resort, I heard about a “Sloppy Joe” but never really had one. A sandwich with actually a kind of meat sauce on it, normally not something I would quickly choose but it was real tasty ...

We started quietly this morning, we had to buy some groceries for in our room and of course went for the "The Walmart", for the 24/7 superstore. The boys had already walked towards the car, we were right behind them. When we arrived at the car we saw the doors open again and at the same time Sam & Senna jumped out again with the speed of light, there was a big spider in the car ... Esther and I laught loudly, beautiful heroes. Anyway, if I should believe the boys it was a spider almost as big as the average dog, so we first had to turn the whole car upside down ..... without result, no spin found. I think the spider was equally startled by the gentlemen and left the car as quickly it came in.

We put the adress details of the walmart in the navigation system, it was about a 30 mile drive to downtown Orlando. Along the way we drove past all parks, Seaworld, the disney parks and Universal studios. You can already see at the highway that it is real touristic area, resorts and hotels all over the place. Once we arrived at the Walmart we our eyes fell out, they sell everything overthere ..... bikes, camping gear, weapons ..... In Holland you have maybe 3 or 4 kinds of peanutbutter, at Walmart you have at least 40 😊 We bought a cooler for in the car so we can keep the drinks and food cool, and a lot of candy for on the road 😊 The prices at Walmart are not comparable with the prices for the same products in Holland. It’s so much cheaper at Walmart. I have paid an average of 8 dollar for a beer on the terrasses, at Walmart you have 8 cans of budweiser fort he same prise, not completely a good compare, but it was cheap….. When we paid we stop a moment at the subway to fetch a tunnaroll on the go, and went back tot he resort.

Back at the resort we unloaded the groceries and the boys dressed for swimming, off to River island. That is the water paradise at the resort. Having arrived there, driving a bit at the resort, I was a little disappointed. It was nicely set up but not spectacular. The boys loved it and enjoyed themselves very well and that is the most important thing for me, so I succeeded. We grabbed a tasty Frappuchino from the Starkbucks, so that's fine. There is a long 'River' with which you can drift with a floattire.

Today it was a relaxed day at the resort, the men were very well entertained in the water, just as nice after a number of 'heavy' days in New York. Tonight we are going to see what we are going to do tomorrow, we have a number of things on our lists. O.a. Kennedy Space Center, Daytona, Orlando itself and the outlet stores (shop till you drop).
