September 23: Mexico Earthquake, Hurricanes, North Korea – is this the end of the world?
THE threat of nuclear war, a spate of earthquakes and killer hurricanes has left many Christians asking; Is this the end of the world?
More than 200 people were killed in a powerful earthquake in Mexico last night, which measured 7.1 on the Richter scale, just a week and a half after an 8.1 mega quake struck the same nation
Coincidentally, or perhaps not according to some, the latest tremor comes exactly 15 years to the day after an 8.0 earthquake struck Mexico City – claiming the lives of more than 5,000 people.
Also within the last month, two powerful hurricanes made landfall in the US – the first time two category 4 hurricanes have hit at the same time in 102 years.
Another sign that some fundamentalist Christians point to is that the sun has released its most powerful solar flares in 12 years and there have been the most wildfires in North America in modern history.
All of this, plus the fact that the threat of nuclear war looms over humanity with President Donald Trump threatening to “totally destroy” North Korea if Kim Jong-Un’s regime does not halt its nuclear campaign, has some wondering whether the end is near.
In a post titled ‘The Signs Continue’ on Christian website Unsealed, evangelist Gary Ray writes: “You would think with all the scoffing coming our way from people who twist our words and say we believe things that we don't that we would close up shop and just wait for things to blow over.
“The doubting side of my heart has even wondered when all these signs and confirmations would finally come to an end.
