[Board Games] Game Night With Friends

in boardgames •  6 years ago

I had some friends over for board games the other night, and we got into Quest for El Dorado and Dead of Winter.

I also got into some Oddside Fruitsicle Apricot Peach Rhubarb.

I am always amazed at how close this game is. It always ends up coming down to just one turn. It's a very well balanced game.

We also played cooperative zombie survival game Dead of Winter.

For this game I ended up playing the mayor, a fireman, and a dog. Surprisingly, the dog is really good at searching for items and killing zombies.

Ultimately, this game ended as the last one. We were overrun with zombies and lost the game.

Still, it was a fun night with friends.

Voluntarily???

Might keep a look out for 'Quest for El Dorado' at the games cafe - if it's that well balanced it could be worth a purchase.

😁 it was what we had on hand. Definitely not my favorite.

El Dorado really is quite something. I've played it probably 10 times, and it's always very close. No idea how they managed it. My friends and I have even tried to purposely try different strategies to see if we could break the game, but it always ends up balanced.
