I've recently developed a passion for business intelligence and this book serves as a wonderful stepping stone to that end. Though I'm a novice and can't tell quality, this book abounds with lists of tools and techniques one can apply in everyday business situations.
It describes the basics of competitive intelligence acquisition, management, counter-intelligence and utilisation of intelligence. I'm still looking for other books in a similar vein, and hopefully I will be in a better position to judge a good book from a poor one.
I've recently forgotten my earlier dreams of geopolitical and military intelligence in favour of a more applicable field, and I believe this book, mentioning competitive intelligence stories from the 80s-2000s such as Betamax, Blockbuster, Microsoft, Motorola and many others, is just the kind of 101 read I'm looking for.
