The Spy Who Came in from the Cold, John Le Carre -- a few observations.

(1) The plot is quite like that of Romeo and Juliet. (Only the "families" are Cold War antagonists.) I wonder if Le Carre did that on purpose? Brilliantly done, anyway.

(2) Neither author, nor any character, is Christian, yet in a few lines, the book almost becomes an apologetic for the Christian faith -- like George Orwell's 1984.

(3) I finished the book up on the way home from work yesterday, then had no CD to listen to on the way to work. (I can't get into Mallory) Normally, KING FM classical station offers a great start to the morning, but they are on some perverse opera kick this morning.

(4) If the multiverse theory is correct, there is some alternate me out there that likes opera. I conclude that the multiverse cannot really exist, please God.
