Somehow, over the last two years, the best part of my encounters with Asian fiction books are of the uttermost emotional power, of that kind when you are either unable to disentangle empathetically from the plot, or contemplate the storyline without any cessation.

Some of them are works by Korean author Han Kang and Chinese writer Zhang Yueran.

But, I just finished this book, "To live", written by the contemporary Chinese novelist Yu Hua, and it gets to the highest taste of literature art in its poignantly emotional script (for my taste).

Simple yet powerful language.

Highly recommended.

By the way, the link above is just a random review which echoes my own opinion.
