Bookmarkable Series: Your Search is Over for a Noteworthy Tool to Manage all your Brilliant Ideas, Random Notes and Interesting Finds [Free]

in bookmarkable •  7 years ago  (edited)

I have been challenged in the past when creating, capturing, remembering and accessing information. The information could have been important or it could have been trivial but the fact is, when I'm online and see something of interest or if I have a random thought worth keeping or a bright idea worth exploring, it seems like so many ways of trying to save the information results in a big o' mess. It's there... I know it's there but with so many options to manage information, it's never easy to access when I need it!

It's there! Just hard to get.

For me, the days of scrambling to find a pen, texting myself, pulling up Notepad, bookmarking trivial sites, or launching Word or Notepad is over. Where do I even begin to search!

I found a viable alternative to programs that rival the likes of Evernote, OneNote and a host of other applications. In my opinion, it's one of the easiest searchable solutions around. I keep my husband on the same page with business projects and use this to keep track of posting ideas, recipes, etc. I actually like it better than Evernote so I'm about to cut off my Evernote subscription.

Good-to-knows...

This is normally the time I go into a step-by-step tutorial on how to use this tool but it's rather easy to use, so I would rather share a few good-to-knows. There's quite a bit to this program so have fun exploring! It's my hope that you find value in the one or all of the Nimbus products.

  • Be sure to download the three Nimbus apps onto your mobile phone.
  • All three programs have Chrome extensions you can install for fast accessibility.
  • Screen Capture is also a Screen Recorder.
  • Syncs to all devices.
  • One place to search.
  • Sharing with others has never been easier.
  • It's free if you keep the data under a certain amount.

Nimbus is #bookmarkable… because some things are just meant to be saved.

This thing you've discovered -- and demonstrated -- fills a need I have had for decades. I am usually pretty organized. I learned the value of keeping lists long ago. Couldn't function without them! But if this turns out to be half as wonderful as you suggest, I am going to make The Weasel get it and teach me how to use it. I have leverage with him, you know ... and I'm not afraid to use it.

Thank you very, very much for this. This post deserves a lot more than we can currently give it, but we do what we can ... and trust that Karma waits out there somewhere.

This excellent post was included in our new curation effort The Magnificent Seven -- a collaborative work by @enchantedspirit and @catweasel. You have received a 100% upvote from each of us to show our appreciation for your post. To see your creation showcased here ... and the fine company you keep ... please visit this link.

The Magnificent Seven

We appreciate your support both for our work on this project and for the other creators of exceptional content who make it all possible. (Follow @catweasel to catch our future Magnificent Seven posts. He's really not as annoying as you might think.)

Thank you so much @enchantedspirit! I am actually finding myself going through old notebooks to document things that are really important. I hope you like it as much as I do. And, thank you for including me in your The Magnificent Seven curation! I really appreciate you both! Much love!!!!!!

The $100,000 question. Does it have a print button? I'm not a big Evernote user, but it drives me crazy every time I need to print a recipe at Thanksgiving :-)

It sure does! Here it is on the web interface. It's at top right corner. :)

I don't have time right now, but this is on my todo list for today. It looks amazing.

Hi @catweasel! Definitely look into it. When I found it, I was hooked. I didn't even go into the half of it because I didn't want my post to be too long.

Hey, make it as long as you like. The more time I spend reading one of your posts the less I have to plough through some of the tripe that passes for content. And this is the GOOD social platform.

Trust me, I'm a doctor.

Hi @catweasel! You're so kind! I'll take this as a compliment! I'll keep that in mind next time I am writing and concerned about the length! Trust me, I'm a good patient. :)

There are many ways to run these tools, it seems. Pretty much every operating system is catered to somehow, especially if you have a browser.

Trust me, I'm a doctor.

Yes, it's got most of the platforms covered and the best part is all the devices sync with each other.

I also use Dropbox but only to share documents and files back and forth with my husband. But it's not a good compiler of random notes like Nimbus seems to be. Nimbus doesn't have the share file feature that Dropbox has so when I need to access my husbands' notes, I log into his Nimbus notes when I have to share info he needs... info that I don't think he wants to clutter up his CRM. He never logs into mine. LOL.

If you find a share option with Nimbus, please let me know!

We use Discord to share files, notes, links, images for the curation posts etc. Pretty much anything we used to do with ICQ and then Skype before Microsoft got their grubby little mitts on it and decided that direct file transfer was too good for its users. Either DM or create your own server. We use the latter, it's quick and easy to set up.

You'll thank me for this. Discord replaces Messenger, Dropbox, Skype, including on your phones. Everything from "Here's the file you need" to "Honey, we're out of flour. Please grab some if you get a minute."

Trust me, I'm a doctor.

Wow!!! What a great idea! I never thought of setting up a server just for that reason. I'll have to test it out!
