Do you reckon if Joyce wasn't committed to death from syphilis he would have killed himself as well? A touch macabre? A few authors have done it? Whether it's the fame or pain that pushes them? Joyce never seemed depressed in his writings. Tortured, comical, weird but never really depressed.....any thoughts?
