Hello everyone, today I want to introduce you to a wonderful writer, Charles Bukowski, he writes in the genre of "dirty realism," that is, about ordinary people, in our time. Well, as in ours, probably, during his youth. Almost all of his stories about Henry Chinasky, a German by birth, living in America.

The first story I read is called "Post Office". I myself did not read Bukovsky's biography, but Wikipedia claims that this novel is his autobiography. In this work, the author tells about the hard work of the postal worker, interspersed with impregnations from his private life, Henry Chinaski, who wants only to plump, fuck and engage in writing activities.

"Policy". For those who wish, I attach a link to the audiobook https://t.me/audioread/11. She talks about the young Chinaski, who, being a college student, is dissatisfied with life and parents and behaves socially. He appears to be a Nazi, although in fact he is not and does not even understand this doctrine. He has nothing against Jews and Negroes, because, as he himself says, they did not do him any harm. In the story there are a lot of not normative lexicon and scenes of drunkenness, however, as in all the works of Bukowski.

"Bread with ham." In this story, the author tells about the childhood of Henry Chinaski, about why he disliked his parents and became what he became))

Hollywood. The story is about an adult Henry, he is offered to write a script for the film and he agrees. Initially, he only wants to take the money, but not write the censure, but eventually gets involved in the work. Throughout the story, it's interesting to read about Hollywood workers, actors and directors. I liked that all the time there was some tension - whether they would film the film according to the Chinaski script, or not.

Factotum.* Description of the adult life of Henry Chinaski, apparently before the events in Hollywood. A series of works, from which he is expelled, drunkenness, sex.

Waste paper. The only story I've read is not about Henry Chinaski. Genre detective, fantasy. The detective sticks into an incomprehensible, dark history, in order to get out of it, he just needs to do his job.

What can I say - Bukovsky's stories are simple and understandable, they are full of human desires. His hero and most likely the prototype has come a long and difficult journey from the very bottom, reaching its goal in the end.
