I suspect a lot of people do know who Kurt Saxon is. Though many more will get the Star Trek connection.

His books were always curiously interesting, even if the beliefs behind them always seemed a bit strange to a European.

The books have a lot of information in them, and I always found his narrative amusing, once I caught on.
Did you hear him when he was on shortwave?

No I never heard him speak, only read is "The Survivor" compilations way back in 1984. Took an interest in his work when Russia went into Afghanistan, and there were a few months when everyone thought war was a real possibility. The practical information was interesting, though the "gun toting survivalist stuff" seemed over the top from a European point of view. These days I get my fill of old technology information from SurvivorLibrary.com, the site is interesting, and politically a little bit milder.

Well, you are in luck, the link in the post is to him reading some of his essays for his radio show.
He was, in fact, quite a fun guy, and that can be disconcerting for some.

I make exception for Kurt because he was combating the same rule by force crowd that oppresses us today.
Europeans, having never thrown off the yoke, are less acutely sensitive to politics as are 'Muricans'.
If you are worried about war and invasion you gotta look into his Poor Man's James Bond!!

This has hand to hand combat courses and many practical solutions for invaders.
