The World Bank suspended $ 200 million loan assistance to Myanmar after the Rohingya persecution of Rakhine.

This information was disclosed in a statement by the company.

The World Bank has announced to review the other assistance provided in the country, along with the suspension of loan assistance in the development sector. In order to get the next facility, there has been a significant progress in addressing the Rakhine crisis.

At the same time, Suu Kyi called on the government to stop the violence in Rakhine and send relief to the affected areas. It has also been urged to facilitate the return of Rohingya who has taken shelter in Bangladesh.

With the help of Rakhine, the World Bank has been providing loan assistance for the past several years to overcome the social development, discrimination in other backward areas of Myanmar.
