Homemade Sweet Dinner Rolls video

in bread •  8 years ago

For years we thought that we could not bake a proper loaf of bread, and we were right. Our bread stunk. Hard, brick-like nastiness that's only effective use for was fishing bait. Not anymore! The culinary muse has revealed the awesomeness of fresh baked bread, and it's not nearly as hard as we had made it out to be for far too long.

In this video, we share our legendary Sweet Roll recipe, but all along the way the tips and tricks that we learned that actually make the bread, bread. Not nastiness.

Nice one

I LOVE YOU GUYS. Thank you so very much. I have been struggling for so so long, and have probably thrown out at least a bag of flour trying. All along I believe it has been it the water temperature. I am so going to try this tonight. STAY TUNED, there will be pictures.....a (hopeful) celebratory photo.

YAY!!! Best of luck! Let us know how it goes.

ok, it was going good I did everything step by step with the video, pausing between each step. they looked really good going into the oven, but when I put them in the oven to rise the second time, my tea cloth stuck to the dough, and they poofed all together into one big mass. but they did rise. But when I put the oven on to cook them, they did not really rise they just spread out some more, but they did get golden on top. So I just cut them into flatter rolls.. what did I do wrong, I just cannot seem to make a darn homemade bread or roll. ....Not giving up just yet. I will figure it out, one day.

your advice as to the error of my ways would be much appreciated.

OK,
First, the recipe should make 24 rolls. You need to use a bigger pan, or 2 9x13's. I think there was way too much dough in that pan. Also, if you let them rise too long, they will get stuck to the tea cloth, and deflate. KEEP THE FAITH! YOU can do this!

Thank you that makes perfect sense. I wont be giving up, I will be trying this recipe again. I did in fact use 2 pans the picture is the one with the second pan, as the first pan was just a big blob. LOL I let them rise the second time less than an hour so I don's think it was that, but will try once again. Thanks for the tips
