CoinMarketCap Launches 'Killer Whales': A Crypto-Inspired Reality TV Show!

in breakingnews •  2 years ago

CoinMarketCap, a popular cryptocurrency price tracking website, has teamed up with Web3 entertainment company Hello Labs to launch a new reality TV show called "Killer Whales." The show, inspired by "Shark Tank," will give entrepreneurs the opportunity to pitch their projects to a panel of judges consisting of entrepreneurs, influencers, and Web3 company founders. Applications for the show can be submitted starting May 2, and filming is scheduled to begin in June with the show set for release on major streaming services and Hello Labs' on-demand Hello TV service.

According to CoinMarketCap's CMO, Jonathan Isaac, "Killer Whales" aims to bring the entrepreneurial spirit of the Web3 space to a global audience. Hello Labs' CEO, Sander Gortjes, added that the show's goal is to educate and entertain viewers on all things crypto while opening the door to the next billion users into Web3.

"Killer Whales" is just one of several Web3-adjacent television shows to launch in recent months, indicating a growing interest in crypto among mainstream media consumers. Other shows, like "Krapopolis" by "Rick and Morty" co-creator Dan Harmon, are exploring the use of non-fungible tokens (NFTs) to engage with viewers and give them a say in the show's development. Additionally, some NFT collections are exploring the potential of expanding their IP through multimedia, with proposals for feature-length movies and TV shows being approved.
