Breast cancer is a disease that is mostly found in women and rare in men, it start in the breast by forming or growing cells out of control, this sickness sometimes start with a lump on the breast that can only be felt during Breast Self Examination and can be seen as a tumor on Breast Cancer Screening(Screening mammograms).

CAUSES
The older we get the higher risk of Breast cancer.

Presently there is no exact cause of breast cancer, but findings show that DNA changes passed by parents (inherited) can increase your risk of getting any cancer, including Breast cancer, there are also lifestyle related risk factors which include the sort of food you eat and how well you exercise, these can either increase or decrease your risk of breast cancer.

Chemotherapy: using drugs to kill cancer cells.

Hormone therapy: using drugs to prevent hormones like estrogen and progesteron from fueling the growth of breast cancer cells.

Targeted therapy: use of drugs to prompt immune system to help destroy cancer cells.

Radiation: this is a method similar to x-rays it involves the use of high powered beams of radiation to target and kill cancer cells.

PREVENTION

Maintain Healthy lifestyle
Regular exercise
Healthy diet
Eat lots of fruits and vegetables
Avoid alcohol or drink little (low levels of intake can gradually increase the risk of breast cancer)
Don’t smoke
Control your weight
Avoid oral contraceptives
Avoid exposure to radiation and environmental pollution
Breastfeeding for one and a half to two years have a protective effect on breast cancer. The longer you breastfeed the greater protective effect.
Perform breast examination regularly (either by self or doctor assisted), if you notice any changes in your breast, lump or skin changes consult your doctor.
