Happy Birthday Mum

awww Glen, I'm so sorry to hear that. It's obviously not what you want to see your mom go through. Sending hugs your way :)

I haven't been back to see her, but I understand that on Tuesday she actually ate most of her dinner and was much more conversational. So hopefully the hospital stay is doing her some good, and she can come back some more. I'm not holding any illusions of her actual health situation. I guess I just wasn't prepared for how bad it really was.

That's so sad Glen. I'm glad to hear she's picking up a bit; we take the good days when they come. My mom suffers from dementia, so I understand a little of what you're talking about ... unfortunately.

Hey, @lynncoyle1.

I'm going to call both parents tomorrow (Father's Day, see how my mom is doing), but she was released from the hospital Friday back to the care center she's been in. I don't know if that's a good idea or not, seeing how they don't seem to have enough people to take care of her there. So, I'm hoping she's still doing better and maybe she can get out of there. We'll see. The problem is, my dad can't take care of her and my sister has problems with both of her knees so it's basically some level of assisted living unless she can get back to where she was before she went in.

I hope it all works out Glen! Happy Father's day to you 😊

Thank you. I hope it does, too. I tried calling her twice yesterday. Both times, the phone was answered, but she didn't talk to me. The first time it was the CNA who answered and after trying to get my mom to talk, the CNA basically said she didn't want to at that time. So I said I'd call back. When I did someone picked up the receiver, but then didn't say anything. I could hear a TV in the background, and some other noises, so I kept saying, "Hello?" or "Mom, this is Glen. Are you there?" Must have gone on for a few minutes. I finally just said I was calling to check in and see how she was doing and then hung up.

Yikes, that's rough! My mom forgot my name yesterday.
