SEC-S19W1: "Designing Lesson Plans"

Hello friends and I am really glad to share my thoughts on this great topic. It is really an interesting one and I am well ready to contribute in the SEC-S19W1 I would be answering the questions immediately.

• What materials do you want to teach to students or to your child?

Teaching is of great value to kids, it makes them better students in one way or the other. Teaching brings out the best in kids preparing them for what is ahead. It is a big process and should be greatly respected. I would be teaching my students about digestion. It is a topic in biology which I would want them to practically understand. It's impressive to have to teach students making them understand the intricacies of the topic, so I guess I'll teach them on digestion today.

• Explain how you would design the opening activities, core activities and closing activities in a learning material

Designing my opening activities would actually be in a unique fashion, entering the class proper, I would write out basic learning outcome such as;

• Students being able to define digestion
• Explain the process of digestion in each component of the gastrointestinal tract
• Comfortably draw and label every part of the digestive system.

Moreso, they should be able to list various enzymes involved in the good digestion in man, without stress, they should ask be able to draw, label as identify various compartment of the digestive tract too.

However, my core activities woul be slow and tentative, I would carry each and every one along during the journey, it would be a mind blowing one, as I would use various pratical analogies all in the quest to make them understand. My closing activities would be precise and short to enable them reflect on what has been taught.

• What method will you use, explain why it is the most appropriate?

Communication is indeed key in achieving a great learning process. I would most definitely make sure I ideally use 2 basic methods. The demonstration method makes it suitable for students attention to be glued to you, while the question & answer method makes it possible for you to have a reflection of how much the understand the lessons.

Importantly, these are the methods I'll use. I would bring out one or two students occasionally, citing instances with them so tht others could understand better, using this method it woul be an effortless journey. I would use the question and answer method as a double confirmation, ensuring the students properly understand what is being taught them.

• What tool and media do you need so that learners can understand it well

A prototype model of a digestive tract would be on each table of every student in class, a projector would be showing the magnified images of the digestive tract and a short video clip of the whole digestive process would be played at the end of the class.

Impressively, this process would be of great importance as the students would be seeing the parts of the digestive tract infront of them as each and everyone has a model before them. Then the clip played would enable them understand. This would be my designed lesson plan! I invite @suboohi @steemdoctor1 @ninapenda to join challenge
