HelloEveryone!!!

Being a teacher I know how important is to design lesson plan. It always help you to convey knowledge to students. There are many ways to explain but we choose the best that suits our students. Let's start today's assignment

1. What material do you want to teach to students or to your child?

I'm a chemistry teacher so I take a topic related to chemistry. Im going to make lesson plan for "titration"

The main learning objectives of today's lecture are
  • Make students aware about the Titration
  • Must know about nuterlization
  • Use of correct indicators
  • How to perform the titration (step by step)?
  • How to record the end point of titration/results?

Titration is a laboratory process which is used to find the concentration of unknown solution with known volume by nuterlizing it with a solution of known concentration. This process needs an indicator to find end point of nuterlization.

2. Explain how you would design the opening activities, core activities and closing activities in a learning material?

Lesson planning is very important which is mainly based on opening, core and closing activities , for designing more effective lesson plans for acid-base titration involves structuring the opening, core, and closing activities to ensure students understand the concepts and practical skills involved. Here’s how I design these activities:

Opening Activities

Engage and Motivate: Engagement and motivation is most important, in this way all students get prepared to learn new topic. First I start with a brief discussion to capture students' interest. I pose questions like, “What happens when you mix an acid with a base?” to stimulate curiosity of students. In this way students get ready to learn new.

Learning Objectives: For learning of students I clearly outline what students will learn and be able to do by the end of the lesson, such as understanding the concept of titration and being able to perform a titration experiment.

Pre-assessment: To check the students are getting knowledge I use a quick quiz or a brainstorming session to assess students’ prior knowledge about acids, bases, and neutralization reactions.

Core Activities

Introduction to Theory:

Lecture/Demonstration: First I provide a concise and detailed explanation of titration, including key terms like titrant, analyte, endpoint, indicator and equivalence point.

Visual Aids: It gives more information to understand students, i use diagrams and videos to show the titration process and the equipment involved.

Practical Demonstration:

Step-by-Step Guide: Conduct a live demonstration of a titration, explaining each step while students observe.

Interactive Participation: Allow students to come up and practice each step during the demonstration.

Hands-on Experiment:

Group Work: In labs for convenience we first divide students into small groups and provide each group with the necessary materials (burette, pipette, indicator, acid, base, etc.).

Guided Practice: During practical work i I walk around to assist and ensure students are following the correct procedure, measuring accurately, and recording their observations.

Data Analysis:

Calculation Practice: For calculation first explain to all then teach students how to calculate the concentration of the unknown solution using their titration data.

Discussion: At the end I give a discussion on the importance of accuracy and precision in titration.

Closing Activities

Review and Reflect:

• Class Discussion: For closing the most important is to summarize the key points of the lesson then encourage students to share their results and any challenges they faced during the experiment.

Q&A Session: Its another important way to clear concepts of students. Address any remaining questions or concerns students might have.

Assessment:

Quiz/Test: Give a short quiz to assess students' understanding of the titration process and their ability to perform calculations.

Lab Report: Assign a lab report where students document their procedure, results, and conclusions.

Preview Next Lesson:

• Link to Future Lessons: It's important for a teacher to briefly introduce how titration concepts will be applied in future experiments or related topics, such as different types of titrations (e.g., redox titrations).

This is my way to make a lesson plan more effective for students. In short by carefully planning and executing these activities, we can ensure that students not only understand the theoretical aspects of acid-base titration but they also gain the practical skills needed to perform titrations confidently.

3. What method will you use, explain why it is the most appropriate?

I have explained above strategies of lesson planning. My lesson always starts from motivation of students to the question answer session or discussion. These are steps of my lesson

  • Motivation
  • Theory discussion
  • Practical Demonstration
  • Calculations by usy data
  • Result /discussion _Q/A

All above these these points i I have discussed before so here I only mention their names.

4. What tools and media do you need so that learners can understand it well?

By drawing or showing diagram of process or any topic helps students to understand well. During practical live performances or demonstration also help to understand it. Mostly I use white boards to explain new topics to students.

Sometimes you show pictures by using multimedia like projector or screen. Its more convenient method for students.

The most important thing for giving any lesson is Engagement of students if they are taking interest they will understand. If they are not taking interest first develope their interest than give lesson to them.

I'm a good teacher and i follow all above points but sometimes you have to change strategies according to the interests of students.

I hope you find some good keypoint from my lecturer planning. Thanks for giving time to my post. I would like to invite @sualeha, @enamul17 and @roohiasif99 for the lesson plans.

Greetings

My gorgeous friend I happy to know you are chemistry teacher and the way you describe about today's titration lecture.

I have read many posts of teachers but your way of teacher is really unique how nicely to give detailed about the titration process, use of neutralize and recording of start of ending and start points.

Obviously you knew how the students can be engages well in this activities and making subject easy for them.

Good luck
