I haven’t posted one of these in awhile but there really hasn’t been anything new to report on. It is pretty much more of the same. Now that I’m getting out at 2:45 consistently I’m catching the 3:58 bus, usually. There was one day where I’m not sure if it was super early and I missed it, got distracted and it drove by me and I didn’t notice a group of people boarding, or it never came at all. There is no way that I could ever confirm that the bus just didn’t make it to the Palisades Center but it seems like it happened to me before. I said I’m catching the 3:58 bus but in actuality I’m catching the 4:18 bus because this driver has been constantly late, usually about 20 minutes. I wait out in the cold because I want to get on the bus ASAP otherwise I could be standing for half the ride. I’ve been considering going to the commuter lot where the bus shelter is enclosed and if I remember correctly it is also heated. I’ll sacrifice getting a seat for warmth, a bench, and I can actually see when the bus is coming. Not sure when I’ll give this a shot because I got larger paycheck today I think Monday I’ll treat myself to a steak and a pint. Which might lead to another blog topic.
Normally I only mention issues with the bus company but I want to touch on a rude passenger. Sometime last week or early this week a middle aged man approached me at the bus stop after walking away from the parked bus. He asked what time it was and since the driver started to approach I said “I guess it’s 5:30.” Prior to us boarding he referred to the driver as a Kamikaze, the driver happens to be Asian. Granted this driver has history of reckless driver where I witnessed passengers get hurt. Though ater we both got on the bus the older guy openly called the driver a “God Damn Kamikaze” because he started driving before he got in his seat. Today I see someone with a dog across the street at Lynch’s Restaurant and thought nothing of it. He makes his way across the street and waits at the bus shelter. When the bus pulled up he came along with the dog and I finally saw it was the rude guy. I let him on first but he immediately got into argument with driver about the dog.
“He’s a service dog, ya damn Kamikaze!” I was too cold to call him on his bullshit. It might be an emotional support animal but not a service dog because of behavior it would show while exiting the bus, more specifically not wanting to exit the bus. Since he picks the back row for a seat it takes extra time to get off and the dog didn’t want to leave so it took about 2 minutes to convince the dog to come with him. The other passengers were frustrated by what happened as was I. They’ve had issues with him in the past as well.
