Escape Homes has recently launched a new program known as the Free ESCAPE Tiny Home Program that is aimed at giving away free tiny homes and helping people start their own tiny home business with that home.
For any homeowner who lives within 100 miles of a major metropolitan area, ESCAPE is willing to give that individual a tiny home but there's a catch, they'll need to use that tiny home to start an Airbnb rental business.
Those interested will be required to maintain the rental for at least one year and they'll need to provide water, housekeeping, power, septic, and liability insurance. The reported rental arrangement stipulates that they will receive at least 40 percent of the income that gets generated.
Interested homeowners have already signed up from around the country, they've seen interest from regions such as Oregon, Montana, Arizona, Florida, and California.
They might soon branch out to other areas as well as there are reportedly discussions currently taking place to extend the concept to international regions and have tiny home rentals in those places as well, such as Jamaica or France.
The tiny home movement has grown worldwide over the years and you can now find a wide variety of tiny homes available today ranging anywhere from a few thousand to tens of thousands of dollars.
There are also many different tiny home vacation rental options, cabin villages, and tiny home communities etc, located in various regions around the United States and elsewhere. Tiny homes have been frequently suggested as a potential housing solution for the homeless, vets, and others who might be less fortunate and struggling etc, that it might help to provide a much needed cost-effective real estate solution today, while so many are facing unattainable traditional home costs.
Are the tiny homes being offered through the program entirely free though? Not really. They will be offering the home to interested parties to maintain as a rental property for that one year, they'll also offer them the chance to buy that tiny home at any time and use it for their own purposes. The ESCAPE Boho trailer is estimated to start around $39k.

Tiny homes is a "thing" now. I also see a lot of people on YouTube doing the van life community which is along the same lines.
