For the love of food, I keep learning

Hey Steemian,

Most of you know that I have a small bakery, a place where I create a lot of delicious savory and especially, desserts. It gives me the freedom to test some crazy combinations and test my pastry chef skills. I can say I am a good one, though I am not trained in this area. The best training is the one my grandmother gave it to me. She's an excellent cook.

So, last week I went to a food class "A la tarte". It was a gift from a friend and I was glad that I could participate. Learned a lot of interesting things, though I might not implement them in my bakery. Not that I am arrogant or something, but I am more focused on homemade goodies rather than fine dine cuisine.

The recipes presented there was: quiche with goat cheese, leek and sun dried tomatoes, blueberries cheesecake, peach and pistachio tart, chocolate and salty caramel tart, exotic tart.

I'm gonna adapt some of the recipes. These recipes include a lot of sugar and one of my principle is to reduce sugar as much as I can in a recipe. Also, I'm not gonna use gelatin, I'll try agar agar, the vegetable and healthier substitute for it.

Definitely, I will have this in my bakery!

I know they look delicious and they are indeed, but my tarts are far more delicious. Sorry, not sorry.
At the end of the class, they gave us a sweet treat.

I hope next time I am the teacher :) I intend to have this kind of workshops in my bakery.

Wish me luck!

Yours,

I was thinking the peach and pistachio tart sounded delish - and it looks good too! I hope you'll adapt the recipe and make it your own (even more delish), and hopefully share it here too!
It's fun to take these kinds of classes from time to time... for inspiration, and for fun. I love learning new tips and tricks. Keeps things interesting.

P.s. It's especially nice, that you can eat or carry home what you cooked, isn't it? ))

it's like a tasty instant gratification :D I love it!

great creations!

These all look so good, the pics are so vivid I can almost taste them

The view is very tasty, but I also prefer home cooking. The idea to create teaching lessons is good. I wish inspiration and good luck in the future. @lena1

It just seems to have made a vibration on the tongue that saw it, it was eager to taste your cooking is very tasty. Thanks for the post, you are also an amazing chef and like your grandmother who also became the master of cooking.

@foxxycat i would love to taste your food.I know what you mean.I have been to similar master class sessions and it is more about the overall look and the taste is very bold.Too sweet or too salty. You cannot beat homemade food with your own adapted recipes. You can learn some great tips, but you still have your preffered method and taste.I am team savoury pastry.Love my quiches.👍

i know what you're saying! i love tarts, but i can;t decide whether sweet or savory. :)

It will certainly will be great since u have got the tricks from your grandmother. Great work. Keep doing what is best. Success will surely come your way. Though the food looks yummylicious
