How To Decide On The Right Niche For Your New, Full-Time Blog

Your Niche Blog.jpg

Thinking of starting a blog but lost in a world of ideas and too much choice? Scared that you might pick something that you lose interest in, and end up with a blog that falters as you run out of steam? Well, in this post, we’re going to look at how to help you avoid this terrible fate.

Blogs are not easy – they are a work of passion, even for those in profit. Like a magazine, they need to be updated all the time, and sometimes, it may just feel like you’re wasting your time if your audience is silent, tiny, and doing nothing. Yes, it’s demoralizing, but just remember – Rome wasn’t built in a day.

What you do need to consider before anything else is your passion. Forget the niche for a moment. What do you care about? What would you happily write about and explore daily, just for fun? You probably have a few of these, and at least one of them is monetizable.

Whichever one that is, pick it. It really is that simple. So, now you have a niche. As a bonus, you also have a ton of knowledge about it already baked in. Go you – no tedious researching on something that you don’t care about!

Now you’ve got a niche and you know all about it, it’s time to start thinking about how your blog can differ from other blogs in that niche. If you can find your own sub-niche and write content that’s only about that, you’ve won 90% of the battle – the other 10% is simply getting the blog done.

Whatever you do, keep at it and don’t give up – because this is one way you can truly make a living doing something that you love.
