Would you change who you are to benefit your business?

A lot of people mistake me being passionate and a perfectionist for me being angry and aggressive. Being able to communicate clearly is paramount when I work with clients and I often find them trying to make changes via email when our phone conversation led a different route.

I have to tone it down and expect less, I have a go-getter attitude when I start working and it doesn't resonate with the majority of people.

So as I've grown and gained experienced in sales and feedback processes I have learnt to always talk softer and keep it more downtuned - this works wonders even when I'm dealing with serious clients.

In the end I have had to change to grow my businesses and keep my client list happy but I am aware that I am not being who I am, this is a conflicting ideal and it impacts my work satisfaction in the long run.

It is my goal to grow my businesses past the point where I need to handle all the clients and all the processes that i used to currently I delegate some but it is interesting to me that people can draw such offense from a tone of voice or someone speaking their mind, after all business is good and services to the clients get good reviews.

In the meantime I will keep trying to be more gentle and sensitive in my approach, but I cannot necessarily say that my tone and volume hasn't lost me business in the past, it has but I have never taken it personal, I just want to share my vision and vigour regarding projects.
