Billionaires think 'WHO' Not 'HOW'

I heard a great quote from Strategic Coach founder, Dan Sullivan, when he was talking about his "Game-Changer" programme for Entrepreneurs on a recent podcast. He said:

"Billionaires don't become billionaires by thinking how they could do something - rather they become billionaires by thinking who they need to surround themselves with in order to achieve their vision"

In a burgeoning world of self-help , it is all too easy to hunker down and start to look to improve (and develop new) our OWN skills to achieve our goals. There are ever increasing numbers of books and online courses on how to do almost anything.

Yet Dan Sullivan quite rightly points to examples of successful entrepreneurs and the fact that they followed the "who" approach by focusing on finding great talent to surround themselves with to build hugely successful businesses e.g. Steve Jobs did a great job in finding Jony Ive and all of the rest of the design team, technologists and operations team to build a game-changing company.

I wrote about the power of networks in a previous post, (https://steemit.com/business/@stevelivingston/the-immense-power-of-the-network-effect) and maybe this is where, as an entrepreneur, you should be focusing your effort and concentration. In seeking to find talented people to join your team (to make up for your deficiencies ;)) and in finding business partners to help roll out your business faster and to more people that you could ever reach on your own.

So herein lies the challenge: to think "who" first (rather than defaulting to "how") in building your business.

Thank you for the article. I'm a big fan of Dan Sullivan and I like that quote. I usually focus on "how" to learn everything I can rather than "who" I need to connect with to augment my own skills. Thank you.
