Skillshare: Getting Your First 25 Student enrollments

The very first thing you are going to want to do as a skillshare teacher is to get 25 students enrolled in your course. The reason for this is that once you reach 25 enrollments skillshare will actually give a boost to the visibility of your course. Something to take note of is that in order for a student to be considered enrolled in your course they have to watch at least half of your class. The good thing is that once they do watch half of the class they will automatically be enrolled.

So how do you get 25 students enrolled?

The most effective way to get your enrollments is to create free access links to your premium courses. Free access links allow you to give your class out for free without actually making it a free course. With free access links, you can set The number of links that will give free access to the course and the best part is the link doesn't expire if the quantity is used up then the link will simply direct the person trying to access the link to sign up for premium offering the person a discounted price or a free trial depending on the promotion skillshare is running. There are a number of places across the web where you can share these free access links.

Black Hat Forums

This is a great way to get the views you need for your courses. There's one black hat forum that I recommend and that's
bestblackhatforum.com. The skillshare section is dedicated to getting you the views you need for your courses.
What I like about this site is that there is no nonsense allowed. The only things that are allowed are views and constructive feedback. The skillshare section can be found at the bottom of the website under Udemy. There are strict rules so make sure you read through them carefully before posting.

Facebook Groups

Another good option for getting views and enrollments are skillshare focused facebook groups.
There are tons of skillshare groups so you have plenty of options. Most groups are open so I would suggest going through each one and seeing which ones have the most activity. One group, I highly recommend is the Skillshare Free Classes Group run by Neil Shearing. Neil is a pretty awesome guy who is very proactive and very helpful in his groups
He not only allows you to post free access links but also premium links as well ( as long as you post your premium link alongside a free access link). Neil also has a dedicated group to helping skillshare teachers out so I suggest joining that group as well.

You can find Neil's Free Skillshare Classes Groups here: https://www.facebook.com/groups/SkillshareTeachers/
And you can his teacher help group here: https://www.facebook.com/groups/SkillshareMastermind/

Twitter

My final suggestion revolves around posting free access links to your classes on Twitter and using relevant hashtags to put your post where they matter most. Basically what I do is post my course And ask people to watch. I let them know its free and that I'm just looking for feedback. If my course is on making the perfect panini then i make sure i have relevant hashtags like #panini and #sandwich somewhere in the post.

Hopefully, this post will help you get those 25 enrollments. The one thing I can appreciate about skillshare is the fact that they give new teachers a chance at the spotlight instead of constantly getting overshadowed by teachers with more time or experience on the site.
