Most of the world plants are flowers. Not only garden and wild flowers, but many trees and every herb, shurb, grain, fruit and vegetables is a flowering plant or angiosperm. The blooms may not all be as big and beautiful as those of a rose, but all flowering plants have flowers and all serve a purpose. Flowers are not just for show- they are sexual just like us and contain maleparrs wich make the pollen to fertilize the eggs or 'ovules' made by female parts.Only when these come together can flowers create the fruits and seeds from wich new plants will grow.
Facts: About spreading plants
Pollen are the male germ cells which must reach the eggs to fertilize them. They are microscopically small and some are spread by sticking to the legs and bodies of insects drown to the flowers' nectar.
Scattered far and wide
Plants can't move, but they can spread their pollen and seeds over a wide area. Only a fews seeds will grow, so plants usually produce large numbers to ensure their survival.Seed spreading
Some seeds are so tiny that they are easily carriedbu the wind. Others have hooks ar hairs on them so that they catch on the fur of passing animals.
