(39.51) Increasing diplomatic work will be done to stop women workers torture: Sheikh Shahriar Jaman
The Special Representative of the Bengali Tribune Sheikh Shahriar Jaman said that the efforts will be made to increase the working of women workers to stop torture. In the meeting titled 'Women Workers coming back' organized by the Bengali Tribune, he gave this opinion.
On Thursday afternoon at 4pm at the capital Dhaka's Tripura studio, the live broadcast of the private television channel ATN News.
Sheikh Shahriar Jaman said, 'One incident is enough. We do not want an incident of torture. Many are working in Saudi Arabia and five thousand women have returned. Here is the fault of Saudi Arabia. What we say here will not be anything in Saudi Arabia. Prasar has to be formed by the government to discuss with Saudi Arabia. Whether to have the ability to carry out the work, whether to have the ability to monitor it is to monitor. But this is not happening. At the same time, women are being trained, but is the BMME keeping an eye on the issues? If a woman of our country is also harassed, our government will have to talk to Saudi Arabia. We can also complain to the Human Rights Council in Geneva. But it has not been done. '
He said, "Saudi Arabia is a big country. We can not do much, it's right. But still we can do so if we want to. Could not communicate with Saudi ambassador as a journalist They do not interact. We have to take diplomatic efforts. We have to create pressure. '
Sheikh Shahriar Jaman said, "There are 1,75,000 workers in Malaysia, no complaints have been received so far. Because, there are monitoring from the embassy. So, why not sending Saudi Arabia monitoring system? There are 12 thousand workers going for the month, so the capacity of the embassy will be increased. Why do not we invest here from where our revenue is coming? It's unreasonable. There are 10/12 workers in the embassy. Where there are 20-22 million people, there will be more manpower. '
Munni Saha took part in the meeting, a member of Parliamentary Standing Committee on Expatriate Welfare and Overseas Employment Ministry. Israfil Alam, BRAC's Migration Program Head Shariful Hasan, Migrant Female Workers Association (BOMSA) Director Sumaiya Islam, Baira's former Joint Secretary General Shamim Ahmed Chowdhury Noman and Saudi Arabia Returned Worker Jasmine Akhter.
