Many people anticipated that the JOHESU strike would last longer than it did. I guess they were wrong.
A lot of talks went on between the union and the government as to ensure suspension of the strike.
People suffered losses from the union members and the general public. As seen in an actual war situation where both sides would be at loss but in Nigeria our top government officials are never affected.
The reason the strike was suspended is not really clear to me but my joy is that we are back to work.
We had a newly appointed Registrar/ CEO in my office who resumed 1st of June and there was Management and staff meeting with the hope for a brighter future.
Funny enough we all were tired of staying at home not because salaries were not paid but thenfact that beingnat home makes the common man to surffer unjustly hence our eagerness to resume work today and ready to fly.
A better staff welfare was promised to us as they always say not until they start getting used to their new position things start changing.
I pray this time things would be different.
I am grateful to be back at work doing what I know how to do for my profession and the entire society.
Being grateful is being glad, happy and joyous for the things you appreciate in your life.
Gratitude day was an initiative of @tojukaka.
In everything give thanks.
