Some species the male will actively encourage this behavior by putting itself over the females mouth if that's not rough sex I don't know what is.

Fact 7

Unlike with Brown recluse bites black widow bite stone usually cause necrosis, inflammation at the bite site and systemic symptoms are much more likely with this type of bite.

Fact 8

Preventing bite is really easy.
It comes down to eliminating hiding spots for the damn spiders, pick up and dispose of trash and debris around your home.
Spray off with water, trim shrubs and weeds. Always use gloves when working in the garden or moving boxes around in your garage.
Keep your mattress off of the ground and away from the walls to prevent spiders getting on top of it.
Always check your shoes for spiders before putting them on.
Try to seal up cracks around your home.

Fact 9

You need a physical barrier.
Keeping the spiders out make sure to put screens on your windows.
Vacuum the inside of your home and under your furniture at least once a week.

Fact 10

So, how do we kill black widow spiders?
If you find a black widow inside of your house and for some reason you're feeling generous and kind of ballsy, you can capture the spider and take it in a jar to be released at least a hundred feet from your home.

Fact 11

Personally, I wouldn't recommend this, you can get yourself hurt.
Chemical treatments are not that effective against black widow spiders.
So, you can kill a spider by spraying it, only if you see it chemical treatments are not good for long-term protection because they stop killing spiders day after the treatment. Sometimes, even hours after the treatment, you're going to have to squish the spider. Preventing bites with routine clean-up is the best strategy.
