Steem: Learn The Lesson From Reddit

Hi,

As far as I understood dlike is intended for sharing content from the web (such as articles) with adding some personal thought/commentary to it (that's why there is a text window).

This user has been persistently using it for posting personal photos, as he has figured out that he can easily farm dlike's automatic curation.
He was explained once that it isn't what dlike was intended for and that he can use photo sharing projects instead such as steepshot.

He refused to stop and continued to farm dlike uploading all possible photos that he could find in his photo album, without any comment added to it.

The guidelines of dlike say:

  • you can upload images and enter details to share

(He was sharing photos but with no details added in commentary section)

But it also says:

  • Spamming and gamification of the dlike system is not allowed. Stick to the maximum post threshold daily.

  • Similar posts with similar sources without valuable additional information will not be voted upon if detected

Majority of the photos are almost identical (they seem to come form streak photos taken with the phone) with zero comment added to it except generic title.

He also repeats the same photos:

Only few Steemians have understanding of what is actually going on behind the scenes.
They see something and come to accusatory conclusions against Seeemcleaners, when they see some user complaining, without actually knowing what the user is involved in/has been doing. They don't know the whole picture.

There has been a whole group of Bangla accounts doing just that. They communicate in whatsapp group teaching each other different ways on how to exploit different curation on Steemit such as dlike, esteem, wafrica etc. They are often taught by specific user that asks them to do that. Then they transfer rewards to that user that works as exchange for them using his personal bittrex account. Then he charges them fee for each withdrawal. Basically these exchange users teach them how to exploit as they get profit from these transfers.

In your post, you forgot to mention that that user has earned mackbot for variety of reasons. He seems to have been well focused on attempting to exploit Steemit in many various ways since joining Steemit. He was not blacklisted by Steemclenaers but probably should have been.

Let me show some examples of other "abusive" posts:

Comment spam using multiple accounts in order to exploit contests created by community (in this case trying to scam contest by ctrl-alt-nwo). Moniristi was exposed and reported by community - please check reply comment by magoo-2:

Plagiarism and/or Copypasta of posts by other Steemians without proper sourcing/credit and ZERO original writing added to the post. He spammed with tens of such posts:

https://steemit.com/photo/@moniristi/cathedral-of-st-bartholomew-is-the-largest-and-most-beautiful-church-in-czech-republic

Other dlike farming. Plain plagiarism image/writing spam on dlike (source leads to his dlike profile not actual source).

Anyway, I will remove the user from mackbot. He can continue doing what he is doing.

Sort Order:

I have just looked at this chaps blog and he was consistently averaging 3 posts a day, perfectly fine.

How does that logically compute into... "farming dlike?"

You need to reform in 2019 for the future of steem & steemit.

  • Similar posts with similar sources without valuable additional information will not be voted upon if detected.

The whole history of this user has been taken into account when adding the user to mack. He should had been blacklisted too for all other crap.

The requirements for adding someone to mack are lower when user has has persistent history of various "abuses".
