Inside a grasp
there are pocket places
beckoning us to gather

Like a foam lather
pride puffs up a heart
to rule and reign

Falling like diamonds
of light through cathedral
window stealing glazes

The best and the bruised
tortured and tried
look for shelter

Gemstones never know
what to expect while
in another's care

Trodden into cracks
of a wood board
hardly owning a sliver
of air

We realize our curse
is from having a mass
that to others
seems like a tease

A mass of grace
and an ounce of liberty
invasive enough to breath
