বাংলাদেশের রংপুর বিভাগে অবস্থিত একটি প্রাচীন স্থাপনা । এটি মূলত দিনাজপুর জেলার নবাবগঞ্জ উপজেলার অন্তর্গত একটি প্রাচীন ধাপ । এটি বাংলাদেশ প্রত্নতত্ত্ব অধিদপ্তর এর তালিকাভুক্ত একটি প্রত্নতাত্ত্বিক স্থাপনা ।
অবস্থান
দিনাজপুর জেলার নবাবগঞ্জ উপজেলা চকজুনিদ নামক স্থানে এই প্রত্নতাত্ত্বিক স্থাপনাটি অবস্থিত । অরুণ ধাপ ঘিরে আরো অনেক প্রাচীনকীর্তি আছে, সে সবের থেকে বড় ও জনপ্রিয় অরুণ ধাপ ।
বিবরণ
পূর্ব-পশ্চিম এই ঢিবির আয়তন প্রায় ৭৫ মিটার. দৈর্ঘ্য ও ৪৫ মিটার প্রস্থ । এর সর্বোচ্চ অংশের উচ্চত ছিল প্রায় ৮ মিটার । ঢিবির মধ্যস্থলে একটি নিচু জায়গা আছে । সেই নিচু জায়গায় উঁচু ছাদ বিশিষ্ট একটি কক্ষ ছিল । ছাদটি ধ্বংস হওয়ায় বর্তমান এই অবস্থা । এটি একটি বড় মন্দির । এ মন্দিরে খনন কাজ চলার সময় এখানে ছোট ছোট কিছু ভগ্ন সূর্য মূর্তির অংশ বিশেষ পাওয়া যায় । তা থেকে অনেকে মনে করে এটি একটি সূর্য মন্দির ছিল । বেহুলার বাসর ঘর আর অরুণ ধাপ দেখতে অনেকটা একই রকম ।
