A DAICO is an improved concept of an ICO, which implies the use of several advantages of a DAO in order to make initial token offerings more secure for investors. The idea of a DAICO is that once the fundraising is concluded, a parameter is set, which determines the sum that can be withdrawn by developers. It is possible due to the implementation of a voting mechanism. If investors see that the funds are spent efficiently, they can raise their investment. Otherwise, they can make a DAICO cease to exist and return their money.

The concept of a DAICO was introduced by Vitalik Buterin on January 5, 2018.
