(31.79) The 19th Rainbow Film Festival ended in London
The Rainbow Film Society was founded in London in 1991 with a good picture, good audience and good society. For the last 27 years, in East London, this organization has been presenting the Bangladeshi film in particular with a variety of activities. Besides announcing film training, film exhibition, film related news magazine, Rainbow Film Society has been regularly organizing the annual film festival since 2000. Originally launched as the 'Bangladesh Film Festival', the festival is now regularly organized as 'Rainbow International Film Festival'. Originally organized for the British Bangladeshi audience, this festival has already attracted other local communities. Especially those who are curious about the culture and culture of other countries including Bangladesh.
This year's 19th Rainbow Film Festival was held this year. The eight-day festival, from 15 to 22 July, shows the films of 18 countries including Bangladesh, India, Turkey, Algeria, Iran, Iceland, Russia, Britain. On 15th July, the University of East London won the inaugural opening ceremony of the Hall of Fame, ignoring the 20th Cup Football Final. After the opening ceremony, the film 'Halda' directed by Touqir Ahmed and produced in Bangladesh is displayed. On July 16th, short film exhibition and discussion programs were organized. The young people of the new generation were present on the occasion. Visitors to congratulate Rainbow Film Parliament to organize this event. Every year the audience also urged to organize this event. One of the biggest additions to this year's festival was 'Film Conference' for day-to-day women. The program was inaugurated on 19th July by the Tower Hamlets Council's Art, Culture Cabinet member councilor Amina Ali and Tower Hamlets Council Executive Advisor Councilor Sabina Akter.
The film was directed by filmmaker Amita Shankar, Yasim Gujelpinaar, renowned actress of the subcontinent, Jayeshree Kabir, young generation actress Aparna Ghosh of Bangladesh. Nadia Lodhi Wahab and Syeda Saima Ahmed were the overall directors of the program. Children's film exhibition was organized on 20th July. Two films made at the Rainbow Film Parliamentary workshop and a film made at the initiative of the Youth Branch of Tower Hamlets Council. Most of the attendees at the ceremony are under the age of 16 years. The concluding ceremony of the Festival held at the Rich Mix Center on July 22th.
The ceremony was attended by Nadia Lodhi Wahab, Deputy Speaker of the Tower Hamlets Council, Victoria Obaz, actress Jayashree Kabir, Rainbow Film Festival Director Mustafa Kamal, Jury Board member Amita Shankar of the 19th Rainbow Film Festival. After the concluding ceremony, Jury Board Member Amita Shankar announced the award for the festival by Rainbow Film Festival. Awarded Best Film, 'Aan Teken Path' directed by Tehmaneh Milani, produced by Iran, Best Director Award Touqir Ahmed (Halda), Jury Board Special Award: 'Bhuban Majhi', Director Fakhrul Arefin Khan. On behalf of the festival, the award was given to Emmaing acting artistes Aparna Ghosh and Majanun Mizan. The program ended with the film 'Bhuban Majhi' directed by Fakhrul Arefin Khan.
